Santorini Venetsanos 2015

About the Winery:
The Venetsanos family has a long tradition of producing Santorini wine, where their winery was built in 1947 to serve the needs of the island. Subsequently, the winery became the first commercial winery on the island, exporting wines as far away as Russia. The winery is located just above Santorini’s port of Athinios, overlooking the magnificent caldera of Santorini. The most distinguished feature of the winery is the structural design, which essentially uses gravity, facilitating energy efficiency, especially during the time when the winery was built and when access to electricity and other energy sources was very limited on the island. The winery was built in an unconventional manner, starting from the top and working down. Recently renovated, the winery is open to visitors to explore the traditional architectural features of Santorini, combined with the history of one of the most important and unique wine regions in the world.
